Getting there

Drive & access notes

Woy Woy Road to Patonga. Limited public transport. Optional Palm Beach / Hawkesbury ferry context for Patonga.

Vehicle entry fees often apply in Brisbane Water fee areas — confirm live amounts and payment (machines / Park'nPay / passes) on official pages. Hide valuables; busy trailheads attract theft.

The water side of Brisbane Water

The park name is the estuary. Most first-timers never see it because they stop at Somersby Falls. Patonga is how you sample the water-side without a kayak — still a real walk in the middle.

Kayaking and fishing are official “things to do” on waterways. This site does not invent ramps, licences or catch rules — check NSW fisheries and NPWS.

Patonga to Pearl Beach

Great North Walk / park-edge walking between two villages. Food at the ends; a real track in the middle. One-way needs a pick-up or a return walk. Confirm signed trackheads, fees and any fire-trail diversions on the official NPWS page.

Warrah Lookout is the nearby view stop. Optional Palm Beach / Hawkesbury ferry context exists for Patonga — treat it as a separate transport option, not a park ticket. No formal park ferry is required for Somersby or Girrakool.

FAQ — Patonga

Tap a question to expand the answer.

Is there a park ferry?

No formal park ferry is needed for the main picnic-area visits. Public ferry context to Patonga is a separate transport option — check operator timetables.

Is this a substitute for Somersby Falls?

No. Different face of the park: estuary and village walking, not the rainforest cascade.

Can I stay in the park here?

Patonga and Pearl Beach have commercial village stays outside the park. Official park camping is a separate NPWS system if any formal sites exist for your date — never affiliated here.
